Opening night in the nation’s capital and Alaska’s pride and joy Jeremy Swayman stole the
show and a game for the Bruins in game 1 of 84 this season. Stopping all but one on 36
shots the former UMaine product showed out in the first game. The Bruins battled hard
while being out shot and overplayed for parts of this game but efficient and effective
penalty killing, and goals from each member of the top line including 3 points from David
Pastranak led to a feel good first win for first time NHL head coach Marco Sturm.
