Well, curse living in NC and not being able to get a few of these games, but from what I can
gather from the highlights the trends of the prior 3 games continued. In youth hockey you
learn from an early age what the “house” is in front of the net. The Bruins need to relearn
this lesson. They can’t defend the middle of the ice in the D-zone at all. Grade A chances
came from this area of the ice all road trip and it cost them consistently. Whether it’s a high
danger chance or enough traffic to take away Korpisalo or Swayman’s eyes, the Bs need to
defend and move traffic out of the front of the net. Pasta will continue being the lone
offensive bright spot, all season long. McAvoy and Zacha are contributing where they can,
but they can’t generate the offense they need. Korpisalo provided them an opportunity to
win, made some big stops at big points in the game, to keep them in it, but not enough.
Utah will fight for a playoff spot, after this organization has been a laughingstock of the
Western conference for quite some time. There is a buzz in the building with their move to
Salt Lake, and it’s a good young team.

The schedule remains tough for the Bruins as they welcome Brad Marchand back to the
building. Following a complete crash out on Rasmus Dahlin and the Sabres, Marchand is
going to be a nightmare Bruins fans never thought they’d have to play against. A lot of
injuries have plagued the Panthers, but that’s why they signed a guy like Marchy to a 6-year
deal, he can carry the load until they get healthy. I expect a nice tribute to the former
captain from the Garden faithful, but I don’t expect him to return any niceties on the ice.
