The Bruins looked good last night against the Blues. Bruins coaching alums Claude Julien
and Jim Montgomery entered the Garden last night with a struggling Blues team without
young standout Jimmy Snuggerud who has been sidelined with a wrist injury that required
surgery. In a game following a feud between Monty and Blues’ goalie Jordan Binnington
after the Monty yanked him in the first period after giving up 2 early against the Ducks on
Monday, Binnington responded poorly giving up 5 goals to the Bruins in this one. This will be
a story to follow over the next few weeks as Binnington who backed Team Canada’s Four
Nations victory last year, might be on the outside looking in for this year’s Olympic roster
due to his poor play so far this season. Steeves was the beneficiary of a nice pass from
Geekie to set up the first goal for the Bruins, and returned the favor later in the period
winning a puck battle below the goal line and centering it for Geekie to tuck in. The Blues
cut it to 2-1, but the Bruins responded well with 3 goals in the 2nd, one from Arvidsson and a
pair from Zacha, the second coming with just .2 remaining on the clock. From there is was
smooth sailing in the 3rd, as Korpisalo did well to thwart a late 3rd period push from the
Blues, stopping 37 for the game, earning 1st star of the game. Maybe enough to elevate his
trade stock…

Bruins will host the NJ Devils on Saturday night at the TD Garden, 7:08 puck drop.
