Papa Ross (as he was known to us) was an avid Celtics fan that had written about the Celtics for years. Whether it be the latest Celtics’ news, preseason thoughts, game recaps, mid/post season grades and everything in between, his often pessimistic view of the Celtics was endearing and led to the formation of his blog the Cranky Old Celtics Fan. Something was missing ahead of the 2025-26 winter sports season. For the first time in over a decade my family was missing the musings of my grandfather who had passed away over the Summer. No infamous preseason report card, or notes about playtime distribution from the “Recliner Coach”. There was a void that needed to be filled. Though the Celtics are far from my expertise, nor did I want to impede of the legacy of the Cranky Old Celtics fan I thought I could transition to another Boston team more in my lane. As a lifetime hockey player, and fan of Boston sports I begun writing short recaps on Bruins games like my grandfather had once done for the Celtics. What started as a few emails to a short list of friends and family has evolved to this blog via a gift from my sister Kendall. My only goal is to continue the legacy of sportswriting that has been passed down in my family for generations. I am in no way an “insider” or an “expert,” just a fan with some thoughts and opinions I like to share. Primarily I will focus on the Bruins, but will incorporate my thoughts on the Patriots, Red Sox, the Celtics on occasion and the sports world beyond New England.
